Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth Plaster Cast

£250.00

There has been a Naval College at Dartmouth much longer than there has been a physical building overlooking the mouth of the river. A series of hulks and lesser buildings were used for training until it was decided to build a permanent college high above the town. This job was given to Sir Aston Webb, establishment architect par excellence.

Britannia is an incredbly long building, some 250m wide across its frontage. Therefore, I have designed this roundel to show the core block, particularly including the steps up which commissioning officers march. Other details which I am proud to highlight include the motto across the frieze and the hour on the tower clock.

I am pleased to offer this piece up for general sale, but am even more pleased to offer a discount to serving members of the Royal Navy. Please use our contact form below to get in touch and I will issue a 20% discount.

This piece is 28cm diameter, and is supplied wired and ready to hang.

Please allow a 1 week lead time as this piece is cast to order and hand finished.
